Nvidia Tegra 600 Series – Based on Nvidia’s Tegra APX 2600 chipset, the Tegra is a reference platform which can play 1080P video while still remaining incredible power efficient. Think ION platform on a single chip built for a phone. Tegra has been talked about for a while, but it’s being demoed in the flesh at WMC by Nvidia, and the best part….it’s running Android.
Nvidia also demoed several Tegra based phones (Compal Com, Yulong N8, & IAC A2) as well as the Tegra running Windows CE (???). The demo that excited me the most though was the laptop form-factored Monitor/Keyboard combo that is powered by the Tegra including using it as it’s track-pad. Ive been wanting to see that for iPhone since I saw a photoshop concept last year.
Nvidia has also joined the Open Handset Alliance to help give graphics on mobile phones a big kick in the proverbial ass. Follow the links below for videos, demoes, and more info.
